So, you want to be a manager?

Think again.

As a technician, whatever kind or level in IT, you'll have a manager to pander to your every fecking whim.

You'll work 9 to 5:30, with no calls or weekend work.

You will not take your work home with you.

You will have a life.

You will not be thrashed to within an inch of your life, in public, for everything you did wrong, and for lots of stuff you had nothing to do with.

You will not have to hand your testicles in at reception upon arriving at work.

You will retain your dignity.

You will most certainly not be poor, either literally or in relation to your manager.

So young IT professional, when deciding on your career in IT and you are presented with the decision, highly regarded, highly paid, pampered technician, or punch-bag, remember this advice!
