Just got back from my
first real walk with digester since she had her womanhood so ruthlessly ripped
out.
All previous walks
this week have been brief affairs but today, back to our normal walk around the
lake opposite our house. The walk usually takes one hour and is done early
morning or later in the evening.
Today, mid morning and
I encountered three specific types enjoying the path that circles the lake.
1. Cyclists. These
are the Hitlers of exercise and display their usual angry disdain for everyone
else on the lake path as they do on the roads. Why are these people so angry? Is
it because of the chapped thighs or the static produced by all of the nylon
they wear? Whatever it is, they really should chill a little and be a great
deal less hateful to their fellow man/woman. They have become such a nuisance
that I now actively get in their way and woe betide the first nylon clad Hitler
who cuts up rough, their cycle will be in the drink before they can say bicycle
clips.
2. Runners. Why run
when all they do is go around in a bloody circle looking very miserable indeed.
Running for a bus is something I can fully understand, though getting
up/leaving early enough to not to need to run would solve that one. No, all
these people do is dress up in lycra and rush about getting sweaty. Is it maybe
a kinky thing and they like lycra and sweat? I am not convinced purely on the
basis that I have never seen a runner who is looking anything other than close
to death and very miserable indeed.
3. Walkers. Either
with a dog or without, these happy band of people stop, talk to you, pet your
dog, wish you a happy day and then wander off chatting to their companions/dog.
These people are having a great day and look happy and stress free.
So putting the Hitler types to one side, as frankly
they should be taken out of society for their own good, my message to the
runners is: slow down, stop and chat for a while. You can still wear your lycra
in public if that is your thing, us walkers quite like to see a shapely form
every now and then, but we'd like to see the lycra clad shapely form with a
smile on it's face.
